Spink and Thackray has been successfully binding Journals for Universities for well over seventy years, enabling us to perfect the craft of turning printed parts into fully bound Journals, with years of use at very competitive prices. We still use many traditional methods, including hand finishing every book, for that quality feel, whilst using modern materials for durability and practicality.

Over many years of working with Universities, we have continued to give a personal and friendly service, enabling us to assist librarians as and when necessary.

We have two main styles of Journal binding, but we can adapt to any requirements.

Our top specification is the ‘Periodical’ style. Intended for the binding of thicker books, and those subject to very heavy use, it is rounded, backed and covered in heavy duty Buckram. It is fully collated to any requirements.

A cheaper alternative is ‘Uncollated periodical’ where the waste matter, ie. adverts etc., is not removed.

We also offer Rebinding of books, where only resewing and new lettered covers are needed.

We feel we can offer universities excellent value for money, due to our quality and prices.
